Jilin delegation holds plenary session to convey and study the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping

On March 8, the Jilin Provincial Delegation held a plenary meeting to convey and study the essence of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches delivered when he visited members of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, the Jiusan Society, the medical and health sector, and the social welfare and social security sector participating in the CPPCC session, and attended the plenary meeting of the Delegation of the People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police Force.

Huang Qiang pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping, taking a holistic view of the overall situation and holding high the banner to set the direction, has made an in-depth analysis of the development landscape and put forward important requirements for building a Healthy China and advancing the political development of the armed forces. These requirements are highly political, strategic, ideological and instructive, pointing out the way forward for us to carry out relevant work well. We must earnestly study and comprehend them, implement them without any compromise, and with concrete actions, firmly uphold the "Two Establishments" and resolutely achieve the "Two Safeguards".

Huang Qiang stressed that we must unswervingly place ensuring people’s health at the forefront of the development strategy and strive to build a higher-level Healthy Jilin. We must firmly grasp the correct political orientation, adhere to the Party’s overall leadership, uphold the public welfare nature of medical and health services, follow the path of health development with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and implement the Party’s guidelines for health work in the new era. We must earnestly fulfill key tasks, take reform and innovation as the driving force, accelerate the expansion of high-quality medical resources and their balanced regional distribution, improve the efficiency of coordinated governance of medical services, medical insurance and pharmaceuticals, promote the inheritance, innovation and revitalization of traditional Chinese medicine, carry out in-depth the Healthy China Initiative and the Patriotic Health Campaign, and better safeguard and promote people’s health. We must effectively strengthen organizational guarantees, intensify the development of public health talent teams, deepen the rectification of medical corruption issues affecting the people, strengthen the protection, care and love for medical workers, and foster a strong social atmosphere of respecting doctors and valuing health.

Huang Qiang emphasized that we must thoroughly study and understand the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping when attending the plenary meeting of the delegation of the People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police Force, and always maintain the political character of Communists. We must further consolidate political loyalty, unremittingly arm our minds with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and consciously maintain a high degree of consistency with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in ideology, politics and actions. We must further strengthen education in ideals and beliefs, and in conjunction with celebrating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, guide the majority of Party members and officials to vigorously carry forward the great spirit of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the spirit of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and the spirit of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and forge rock-solid ideals, beliefs and convictions. We must further consolidate the responsibility of the Party for managing armed forces, accelerate the development of national defense mobilization capabilities, deepen the work of mutual support between the military and civilians, and promote high-quality development of people’s armed forces work in the new era.

Today marks International Working Women’s Day (March 8). On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Congress, the Provincial Government and the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Huang Qiang extended festive greetings and best wishes to all female deputies, female CPPCC members, female staff members and women compatriots across the province.
